After a very negative experience purchasing our house we were very keen to find the “right” agent to handle its sale. In my opinion the job of the agent is to obtain the highest possible price under the best possible conditions in a reasonable time frame. They should also offer service, service and service. The boys did all of the above. We interviewed five local agents before deciding on Rob and Cayne Hyde, and actually only found them by accident. A house in our street was on the market and we called to go and inspect but it had sold. My wife had attempted to hang the phone up three or four times but Cayne would not let her go. I called out to her to have this agent come to our house, as if I was a seller I would want my agent chasing every possible lead as hard as he could.
We sat down and discussed options to add value to the house before putting it on the market and the boys went out of their way including providing furniture for our downstairs area that was empty (which they brought and picked up, all as part of the service). Persistent is the best way I can think of in describing Rob & Cayne’s approach to the selling of our home. We had our home on the market for about 8 months, in part due to our own changed personal circumstances, and in part a matter of timing as to when our new residence would be available for occupancy. Combine these factors with a very depressed housing market and you end up spending a lot of time with a sale sign on your front lawn.
In the beginning, we sought expressions of interest to sell from a number of agents and Rob was the only one that presented us with a sales strategy rather than just saying that he would list the property on the Internet. As time passed and the open house inspections evoked disappointing reactions from the potential buyers It was hard to imagination what these people wanted. We believe that many had read too many copies of Vogue and House Beautiful so that they expected every house to be just like those pictured in the magazines. In addition they wanted all of these things at Crazy Clark’s prices. When they did not see them in our home they made a whole lot of excuses as to why the property was not suitable.

The first made an offer and then withdrew at the last possible moment for what were spurious reasons. The second failed to obtain the necessary finance and so his offer failed.
